Hi readers, here is a case study that was shared with me by a startup called Unacademy for a Product Management interview. Read on to understand the case study solution

Problem Statement

Unacademy is India’s largest education platform. We have over 20000 educators who are changing the lives of over 30 million learners, quite a few of them being from the remotest places in the country. A significant reason for Unacademy’s success has been the quality of educators on the platform which draws learners and enables their success. As Unacademy’s CEO says, “Our entire team is obsessed about giving learners and educators the best experience.”

Imagine that you are leading the product for educator experience on Unacademy to bring the best educators on board, and give them the best experience.

  1. What would be your vision for the educator experience?
  2. What would be your strategy and approach?
  3. Since educators are key to success for Unacademy, what would be the solves to create high stickiness for educators on the platform?
  4. What would be your key focus areas in the next 3–6 months?
  5. What would you de-prioritize?
  6. What might your roadmap look like?

Assume you can coordinate directly with anyone in the senior executive team at Unacademy to influence product and business strategy. Obviously, you do not have full information from outside the company and we’re not looking for any particular “right” answer, since you don’t have full visibility into our data or day-to-day details.

We want to understand how you structure an ambiguous problem, drive vision/direction and translate high-level priorities into actionable plans. The output of this could look like a 10–15 slide deck or 5–10 pages of a word document. More details are welcome, however, please restrict the details to the Appendix. We’ll schedule a time for you to walk us through your document.
